yesterday I died;
“It’s been a long time, hasn’t it?” “You reckon?” It was a harsh response, Jessica recoiled. “I’m sorry.” “Well,” Taeyeon was bitter. “It really had been a long time.” Jessica couldn’t look directly at the girl next to her to see that she was hurt. It was too hard- no wait, it’s not hard - to even think about it. Well actually, it’s easier, she just need to turn her head around to see that face again - and let things go back to the same old phase. Right? Right. But things are different - maybe she should call it complicated, Jessica settled with this is too complicated and forgot that Taeyeon could read her like an open book. “A complicated story I guess…” She began. “We used to talk a lot.” “It was more than talking Jessica.” Taeyeon breathed. “Always.” The girl couldn’t continue on, it was impossible, Taeyeon had struck her down. When a line of friendship is crossed, it’s permanently scarred, there’s nothing that can fix such cracks. Maybe she had been too stubborn back then, too uncaring, too stupid, too- too- “I miss this.” Taeyeon broke Jessica’s thought. “When we used to stand together.” “We used to have so much fun too.” “And a lot of smiles.” Taeyeon’s gaze drew into the distance. “You don’t smile a lot now.” “Yeah,” Jessica managed to break a smile onto her face as she proved Taeyeon wrong, but it was a smile that broke everything inside her. ”Just not a lot now.” |
