Can we all emphasize how Eryka clutches to Elise’s arm with both hands, implying a harshness and force, yet the gesture itself looks so soft? Her hands seem very light and I love this scene so much for it.
Eryka’s entire character is so lovable because of this, a manifestation of her actions based on her feelings- she is in love, one of the strongest forces to be reckoned with according to some, and yet she never pushes Elise (ok I mean sure she held her at gunpoint but that was less of an attempt at a love declaration and more of trying to survive by lying and escaping). Even when she’s lying to her at the beginning, their “friendship” begins mainly on Elise’s terms, and even when she’s asking Elise for “one more night”, she’s begging because of how she feels but not necessarily forcing Elise (this could be disputed, but I very much doubt Eryka would’ve kept asking if she felt that Elise was putting up any real resistance… She knew Elise felt guilty, but that doesn’t exactly stop Elise from feeling what she’s feeling either so I imagine these dorks to be stuck in the world’s weirdest impassé.
Long story short, their story is like a dance, with their feelings and consequent actions contradicting each other yet also working in tandem to create the amazingly well-portrayed romance between we see.
